Waltzingmouse June Release Blog Hop!

Have you been checking out the Waltzingmouse June release previews from the Design Team?  Well today to celebrate the stamps hitting the store we're having a new release blog hop.  You should have gotten here from Edna's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning you can see a list of all the ladies participating here.  I will keep this short because I know you have lots of blogs you will want to hit today.

For my first card I used the new Country Labels 14.  I layered the largest label in the set under the smaller polka dot one, and topped it with a sentiment banner.
For my second card I used the "You're a Doll" set.  One of the doll stamps comes completely assembled vs the "create your own".  I used that stamp to create a background of stamped dolls.   I kept the color scheme monochrome to let those sweet dolls do all the talking.
You just have to love this sentiment!  YES!  Definitely tickles!!
Well I hope you are loving the new stamps as much as me and I can' t wait to see what you make with them.  The next stop on your hop is Jen Cuthbertson !  I love her eclectic fresh style!

Make sure that you leave a comment because there will be a prize of a stamp set of your choice to one random commenter from all the blogs on the Waltz.   You have until July 2 at 6:59AM EST to leave a comment to be entered to win.

Have a great day!
Jeanne

12 Kits of Holidays - June Edition

I am so excited to share with you my post for the 12 Kits of the Holidays this month.  If you are not familiar with my blog - the "12 Kits" is a group of 12 designers.  We each take turns supplying the others with a "kit" of supplies.  On the last day of the month we all post what we made with the same package of ingredients.  It's always fun to see the different ways each of us approach the kit - sometimes our creations look similar and other times it's crazy how different they can look.

I am excited because this was my turn to host the group!  I put together all sorts of goodies - paper from Basic Grey and stamped images from WPlus9.  I am always worried that what I consider "awesome goodies" the rest of the ladies might have a hard time with so I made lots of things to show how "user friendly" this kit was - well for me anyway.... for the other ladies you'll just have to visit them to find out!!!

So here goes.....

Now it's time to see how the other ladies did with this kit.  Just click on their names to jump to their blogs.  There is a special treat this time too... an alumni guestie is joining in on the fun!

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse June Release Big Berry Cherry & Country Labels 14

It's day three of the Waltzingmouse June Release - the stamps officially hit the store tomorrow!  Today we are showing you two new sets  Big Berry Cherry - what I call a quarter size set (3 x 4"), and  Country Labels 14 which is a half size set (6 x 4").
I have to tell you - the very first time I saw a Waltzingmouse stamp in a magazine (it was a label stamp), it was love at first site!  Finally  a stamp that actually matched a Spellbinder die with a window so that I could line up the stamping inside perfectly every single time.  I started my collection with a handful of these label stamps and haven't looked back since.  They are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways - from the main attraction on a card to a pretty gift tag.  You just can't go wrong and the new Country Labels 14 are no exception.  I made this card using the label stamp as a frame for a butterfly.
My second card features the new Big Berry Cherry set.  There are three different cherries in the set to choose from - the plain like I used on my card today, one with a polka dot pattern, and one in a classic Waltzingmouse hounds tooth pattern.   The cherries and leaves are easy to cut out with a circle die or a hole punch.

Heres a list of the other ladies showing samples today.  Stop by for a visit and spread a little love!!

Don't forget the stamps hit the store tomorrow and we will be kicking things off with a Design Team Blog Party.  Yes there will be candy up for grabs so stop back tomorrow!!

Introducing Waltingmouse Crackle Background!

Today through Sunday June 30 the Waltzingmouse Design Team is showing you previews made with the latest release that will be hitting the store on Sunday.  Today we are featuring The Crackle Background, Crackle Reverse Background and  two  feather sets called Funky Feathers and Fine Feathers.   The crackle background  (like I am using today)  stamps the crack lines, and the Crackle Reverse Background stamps the area inside the lines.  Both of these will also be available in full size as well as  mini size.

For my first card I simply stamped the background blue on blue paper and added some fussy cut flowers from  the You're a Doll set that was previewed yesterday.   A fancy gold frame around my sentiment and a little bling add some drama to a casual fun card.
My second card was made by stamping the flowers from You're a Doll in a stripe across the card.  These flowers are so fun and versatile - I am in love with them - they look beautiful inked up in every color I've tried!   I inked up the Crackle Background in Sahara Sand and stamped over the flowers to give the look of antique china and  distressed the edges.  I added pearls to the flower centers just because I couldn't resist..

Check out what the rest of the design team did.  You will want to see the other new stamp sets available that are previewing today including Fine Feathers, Fancy Feathers, and the Reverse Crackle Background that I can't wait to get my hands on!!

Have a great day and see you tomorrow for more new releases!

Waltzingmouse Preview You're A Doll and Doll Additions

So excited to share with you the newest Waltzingmouse Release.   The Waltzingmouse design team will be sharing peeks at projects you can make with the new stamps today through Sunday when the stamps hit the store.  Today we are showing you the  You're A Doll and You're A Doll Additions!  You're a Doll is a fabulous set of build your own Matryoshka Russian dolls with beautiful flower accents.  The Additions is a mini,  1/4 size set with a doll face and some lovely sentiments.

I made a easy CAS card showing some of the combinations you can make on this "You're A Doll" card.

Next I made a fussy version with layers.  Check out the background to see all the gorgeous flower stamps that come with this set.  You can mix and match bottoms and tops of the dolls and they come in three different sizes.  There are also different faces to choose from so you can customize each doll to suit your purpose.
And last I made a gift tag with the You're A Doll Additions set.  It comes with a beautiful face that is approximately 1 1/4" and three sentiments.  The sentiments are all very empowering with a positive message to inspire you to  be yourself and just SHINE!
Here's a list of all the ladies playing along today and If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop you can start at the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog for a complete listing.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I see you tomorrow for more new Waltzingmouse pre release projects.

Case Study #147 - You're The Bee's Knees!

It's been a busy week for me.  Sorry I have been missing in action lately.  I've been running around a bit - I took my son for his physical - he's leaving for the National Boy Scouts Jamboree at the Summit in West Virginia in a few weeks and I have to make sure he has everything he needs.  I've also been working hard on some samples for the new upcoming Waltzingmouse release that starts today also!!  So make sure you come back and see what goodies Claire came up with to tickle your fancy!

Time for your weekly dose of CASE Study Inspiration!  CASE is simple - just check out the inspiration photo - decide what moves you - and run with it!  The muse this month at CASE is Lisa Spangler from Side Oats and Scribbles and here is her design.
I see lots of neat things this week - lots of color, repeating patterns, triangles, that bitty black banner that jumps off the page...  Here's what I grabbed, that pennant shape for the sentiment,  and lots of  repeating chevrons (vs triangles) running all throughout my design - they're in the background paper and behind the sentiment.
Told you I'm digging orange lately didn't I?  So sunny and summery it cant help but make you smile!!  So now it's your turn!  What grabs you?  How will you make this one your own?  You can see the designs from the rest of the design team by clicking on their names here.

More May Release Waltzingmouse Inspiration - USA 1776

Throughout the month of June the Waltzingmouse Design Team is highlighting projects designed with the May releases (USA 1776 and Country Labels).  Today I am sharing with you a card I made using the new USA 1776 set.  I've got the 4th of July on my mind and Lady Liberty just fits the bill!

I used the kite shape in the set to make my star background.  When you line them up they fit the Spellbinder Stars Five perfectly.  I inked them up in a soft pink to give a distressed water mark look.   Of course I had to add some fireworks... I mean BLING... because I can't wait to see the night sky all lit up....  and well... sometimes you have to make a few fireworks of your own!
If you'd like to see more designs with the May Releases, USA1776 and Country Labels pay a visit to Sandie Dunne and Jen Cuthbertson today!

Oh and if you are a fan of Waltzingmouse (I mean who isn't???) stop by on Thrusday June  27 to see some of the brand new June releases that will be hitting the Waltzingmouse on line store on Sunday June 30!  You're going to love what you see!

Hugs!

TSTR#172 Summer Breeze

This is my last week as guest designer at The Shabby Tea Room.  I had lots of fun in the spotlight - it was a real treat to join the Shabby Girls and play along!  You really have to play along if you love roses and ribbons and all things shabby chic!  I am always delighted by the creations I see displayed there.

Here's the inspiration photo for this week.  You are instructed to use the colors in the photo and to add a fabric element.  I stuck  with my June wedding theme for my card because it's a great excuse to pull out some flowers and fancy trims.    This image is so elegant but at the same time there is something more carefree and casual about it.  I think it is the groom with his knee bent.  I decided to keep it dressy but not over the top formal and elegant.

For my fabric element I took a 12 x 12" sheet of burlap and trimmed a 2" length with pinking shears.  I roughly hand stitched the straight edge and then pulled the ends together to form a rosette.   I left just a bit of the thread hanging from the rosette, and  topped it with a resin embellishment.
Have a great day and see you at The Shabby Tea Room!

RR#56 - Hello!

Hi friends!  I hope you're doing good!  You survived the weekend - back to the working week!  Our church had their annual "Fun Days" carnival over the weekend.   Parish families all volunteer with the set up, clean up and running of some of the booths.  It's a good time reconnecting with friends and there's lots of fun to be had as well... rides, good food... what else do you need?

Twice a month The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog posts a new challenge.  This inspiration photo was picked out by Lenet and she wants you to create something inspired by the photo and use a flower, ribbons and lace.   I was just about done with my card when I realized I needed to add some lace... so quick thinking here....   I just threaded some 1/8" ribbon through the holes in a 6" length of crochet lace and tied the ends together to make a rosette.  I slipped a brad through the center and attached it to my bow.  Not too shabby huh?  Or maybe it is?  Shabby Chic?? I sure hope so!

I loved the stack of different colored tins in the photo and decided to stack different rows of patterned paper.  I ran them through a scallop border punch to add a little interest.
Here's my finished card.

I hope you will join us at the Ribbon Reel  - I'd love to see what you come up with!

CASE#146 - Fresh Baked Get Well

Is everyone enjoying the summer?  I don't know about you but I always have these little "Normal Rockwell" images of what certain holidays and times of year should be like.   Maybe it is more of a sentimental feeling associated with certain times of year that is hard to explain.  My visions of summer include  staying up late, sitting in the yard until it's dark and I can see the lightning bugs blinking on and off, or sitting on the chaise lounge reading a book as I sip an ice cold pina colada... .. you know..... that sort of thing.   Visions that  hardly ever come true, but  would be a perfect day for me and totally capture the feeling of summer.  Have you done any of these things yet?  Me neither!!! Good thing it's only June!!

Time for your weekly dose of CASE Study Inspiration!  CASE is simple - just check out the inspiration photo - decide what moves you - and run with it!  The muse this month at CASE is Lisa Spangler from Side Oats and Scribbles.   So what moved me about the inspiration photo?  I know... some times it's not so obvious is it?  For me it was that clever "shut the front door" sentiment with the house image - the perfect pairing of sentiment and images.   I also picked up on the layout stamping my sentiment in the bottom right on my card just like Lisa.    Here's what I came up with...
So now it's your turn!  What grabs you?  How will you make this one your own?  You can see the designs from the rest of the design team by clicking on their names here.
