12 Kits of Occasions - Boo To You!

Hi and thanks for stopping by! It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits is a group of 12 friends who all like to paper craft! Each month we take turns providing the rest of the group with a "kit". The host chooses the theme and supplies. Our hostess this month is Nancy Penir from Artful Notions blog!
Nancy put together a wonderful kit filled with lots of goodies! Pretty papers from Echo Park and American Crafts, stamped images from Impression Obsession and Poppystamps, and all sorts of die cuts from Memory Box, Impression Obsession, Frantic Stamper, Papertrey Ink and more! There were doilies, pretty ribbons and buttons and sequins from Buttons Galore and More!

She even decorated the packages for mailing! What a nice treat to receive in the mail. I only wish I had had more time to play because there's lots of left overs!

Want to see more designs created with Nancy's spooky kit? Hop on over to our group page.. The 12 Kits of Occasions where you'll find a sample from each of the team members. We're trying to keep the group interactive by giving you a chance to join us every month. Have a beautiful day and watch out.. here comes November!

Tag You're It Challenge - Sweet Wishes!

Are you playing along at Tag You're It Challenge? They have a great challenge for you this time!
This one is from Emily Midgett from Sixth Street Sundries blog! Lots to love here.. The blue and gold color combination, the polar bear or Christmas theme. How about the layout? The choice is yours. Focus on what moves you and go with it!
I went with a blue and yellow theme and the layout of Emily's tag. My sentiment is stamped directly on the tag - just like Emily, and I have a swag across the top of the tag.
No polar bear here.. but my cute little faerie is checking out the igloo and leaving presents for nice folks everywhere!
Now it's your turn! Hop on over to the Tag You're It Challenge blog where you'll find more designs inspired by Emily's tag, and you can link up your very own!

Pretty Little Studio - Oct 31

Halloween is almost upon us and I thought I'd get one more card in with the amazing Pretty Little Studio Goosebumps Collection. It's my favorite Halloween paper this year and I just can't get enough of it!

I started with a background of Full Moon pattern paper and topped it with a 3x4" Creepy Crawly Journaling Card. This is the foundation for my card and I embellished around it starting with the "Oct 31" die cut from the Thriller pack.
When I saw the line through the word "spooky" on the Scaredy Cat Cut Apart circle I thought it would be fun to have the dangling spider's web run across it. You don't really see the web the spider is hanging from so I added one! The flair! It's from the Midnight pack. Cut Aparts are an excellent value. For the circular ones all you need is a 1" circle punch. The "happy halloween" sentiment is from the Spellbound word cut aparts.

A Witch's Brew photo corner frames the journaling card beautifully. This die cut pack has lots of nice things to choose from, photo corners, stars and circles with lots of spooky images!

Beware the black cat from the Spooktastic die cut pack!! Hopefully you're not superstitious!

For a little sparkle and shine I added some Breezy blue sequins, the smaller ones are Frosted Teal. The blue really pops against the orange background.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek ! I hope you have a fabulous Halloween!

Tupelo Designs LLC - Duck Weather

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! Seems like it's been raining ALOT here lately - enough to make you have to cut the grass in OCTOBER if you can believe that! So I thought this would be a good time to play with the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence "Showering You With Love" stamp set I got at Tupelo Designs LLC.
This little cutie is enough to actually make me LIKE the rain! LOL! Normally it doesn't bother me but we've been helping my daughter move the past few weekends, and I dread driving down the expressway at night in the rain.
We call it "duck weather" maybe you do too? The coordinating die cuts make these a breeze to cut out. There are even dies for the little duckies! The papers are American Crafts Shimelle Star Shine 6" pad. I love the cloud paper! I repeated the cloud pattern with a cloud die cut piece of vellum.
The falling sequin hearts "rain" are from the Queen and Company Toppings III. There are 7 shakers in different colors. Each shaker includes lots of different shaped sequins (hearts, stars, flowers, cone, and regular sequins). The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. I added some freckles to her rosy cheeks with a white gel pen.
Tupelo Designs LLC is my favorite store. They have lots of my favorite brands all in one place. In the past I would purchase items directly from the manufacturer. I had to spend a minimum to get free shipping - usually buying more than what I had originally intended. When I shop at Tupelo Designs LLC I can buy a little of each brand, and shipping is ALWAYS free (USA only - discounted international shipping). You'll find all your favorites like My Favorite Things and so many more! Want to go shopping? Click here to jump to the store. I think you'll be glad you did!

Fusion Card Challenge - Fall Leaves

Yes it's definitely fall!  I'm feeling a nip in the air in the mornings and the leaves are changing color and falling to the ground!  It's a great day for a hike!   We've been spending lots of time getting our daughter settled in a new place.. she'll be 7 hours away!   My missing you sentiment is for her.

A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge and if you love fall color this one is for you!   Check out that gorgeous inspiration photo!  And if that's not you're thing.. I mean seriously can that be possible?  Someone doesn't love that photo? !!!  Well you can play with just the sketch if you like!
I'm trying to be a clever girl and fuse them together this time!  I started with an ombre blue background created with the Pretty Pink Posh Stacked Edges One Die.  The set includes three different dies that you can make amazing backgrounds with.

I topped that with a Stitched Essentials One tag.  cut a window in the center so the background could peek through.   I just couldn't cover it up!
I cut the leaves from colored card stock and then inked up the edges with distress ink to bring them to life!  I love the contrast of the yellow and orange on the blue background!
Need a little more inspiration? Our design team has you covered! Hop on over to the Fusion Card Challenge page where you'll find samples from the team and a place to link up your own design!  We can't await to see what you make!

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Monsterous!

Well hello there!  Are you ready for Halloween?  I've already seen a few princesses walking around the area!  Lots of parties this weekend too!  No trick or treating here until Tuesday though!  That's ok!  It gives me more time to make sure I have enough candy in the house!
Today I'm playing over at Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  They have this bunch of photos for inspiration! I'm using the Reverse Confetti Monsterous stamp set!

These little guys are so cute with their pumpkin buckets!  I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copic Markers.  They were easy to cut with the coordinating Monsterous Confetti Cuts.  I thought some google eyes would make them even more fun!

The purple background papers are from the Fright Night 6" paper pad.  It's got lots of traditional Halloween colors - orange and black, with purple, green and aqua blue!

I stamped the sentiment directly on the Tall Stripe Panel background.

I hope you have a fantastic Halloween and all the chocolate your heart desires!

CAS-Fridays New Release - Chanukah

It's the last day of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps October Release peeks! The stamps are officially in the store and ready for you to add to your stash! There were four new stamp sets released this month. Today we're showing Chanukah!
This set has beautiful script sentiments with Star of David accents, and the images work perfectly with the Bubble Box Fri Die layered tag set.
I stamped a background of "Happy Chanukah" in shades of blue at a diagonal across a panel of white card stock. I did this the "old fashioned" way.. drawing pencil lines and using a stamp a ma jig. My stamping tool wasn't big enough to stamp this at a diagonal.
I stamped the sentiment with a stamping tool inking up different parts of the stamp with different colors - light to dark to give it an ombre look. I stamped it several times as I added more color. A stamping tool makes this effect easy.
I wrapped gold twine around the base of the card and then adhered the label with adhesive foam tape. I added some Hannuak Fri Die stars cut from gold foil, and gold glitter paper with gem centers for some extra bling.
The traditional blue and gold look beautiful together.
